Rep. Denny Heck

Dennis Heck, Congressman (D-Washington), House Financial Services Committee and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence

Dennis Heck has represented the Washington 10th district (Olympia and the South Sound) since its creation in 2012. Prior to that point, he was a state representative, majority leader in the state house of representatives, chief of staff to the governor, and the founder of a small business specializing in workplace education. Since his election to Congress, he has served on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Financial Services Committee, taking a particular interest in matters of trade and monetary policy. Most useful for our purposes is the fact that he is currently one of the Democratic leaders of the bipartisan effort to reform the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (the bill is scheduled to come to a vote before we arrive to interview him).
